What we collect and why.
Contact form and email enquiries: name, email address, organisation, and the content of your message. We use this to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to discuss our services. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (responding to business enquiries).
Client and prospective client contact details: names, job titles, business contact details of people at client and prospective client organisations, used to deliver services and manage business relationships. Lawful basis: legitimate interests and, where applicable, performance of a contract.
Website analytics: information about how visitors use our site (pages visited, device type, approximate location), collected via cookies where you consent. See our Cookie Policy. Lawful basis: consent.
What we do not do.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use personal data for automated decision-making. We do not send marketing emails without a lawful basis to do so.
Sharing.
We share personal data only with service providers who support our business (for example website hosting and email providers), under appropriate safeguards, and where required by law. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses).
Retention.
We keep enquiry data for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any follow-up business relationship, and client relationship data for the duration of the relationship plus 6 years to meet legal and contractual obligations.

Ground Evolution Monitoring Ltd is a UK-based geotechnical monitoring consultancy. Although we do not meet the turnover threshold that requires a statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we support its aims and make this statement voluntarily.
We are committed to preventing slavery, servitude, forced labour and human trafficking in our business and supply chain. Our business is professional services with a short supply chain consisting mainly of satellite data providers, software and IT services, and professional advisers, which we assess as low risk. All our staff are employed directly under UK law.
We expect our suppliers to comply with all applicable laws, including the Modern Slavery Act 2015, and we will not knowingly work with any organisation involved in slavery or human trafficking. Any concerns raised will be investigated, and we review this statement annually.

Ground Evolution Monitoring Ltd (GEM) provides satellite InSAR monitoring services for geotechnical, infrastructure and environmental applications. We are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our operations and to supporting our clients' environmental objectives through our work.
Our environmental impact.
As a professional services consultancy working primarily with satellite data, our direct environmental footprint is small. Our principal impacts are office energy use, business travel, and the computing resources used for data processing. We nevertheless take responsibility for managing and reducing these impacts.
Our commitments:
Comply with all applicable environmental legislation and regulations.
Minimise business travel by using remote collaboration wherever practical, and prefer rail over air travel for domestic and short-haul journeys where feasible.
Use satellite remote sensing as our primary data source, which requires no site visits, ground disturbance, or installed equipment for the majority of our monitoring work — inherently reducing the travel and material footprint of ground investigation.
Manage our computing and data processing resources efficiently, and prefer energy-efficient infrastructure and providers where practicable.
Minimise waste and use recycled or recyclable materials in our office operations; operate as a substantially paperless business.
Consider environmental impact in our purchasing decisions and expect our suppliers to comply with applicable environmental law.
Review this policy annually and seek continual improvement in our environmental performance.
Environmental benefit of our services.
Beyond managing our own footprint, our work directly supports environmental protection: monitoring tailings storage facilities, landslides, coastal erosion, subsidence and post-closure mine rehabilitation provides early warning of ground instability and supports the safe, sustainable management of land and infrastructure.
